What is Reflexology?

Stimulating pressure is applied to thousands of nerve endings and pressure points on the feet or hands creating a reflex action to all the glands and other parts of the body. By correctly stimulating these points, using specific hand and finger techniques, many health conditions may be assisted in a safe and natural way.

You may feel you are being pampered during a Reflexology session but do not underestimate the powerful effects this treatment can have on all of your body systems (e.g. the lymphatic, nervous, circulation, endocrine, respiratory, digestive systems).

Reflexology is non-invasive – only the feet, and/or hands and ears are worked. It is deeply relaxing yet surprisingly energizing – all part of its balancing capacity.

What is Auricular Therapy?

Auricular Therapy is a therapeutic form of Reflexology in which stimulation of the external ear, known as the auricle, is utilised to help alleviate many health problems in other parts of the body.

Auricular therapy produces an instant reduction of muscle tension by affecting Central Nervous Motor Neurons. Stimulation is activated either by finger, seed or probe pressure.

Auricular therapy is said to be not only a pain reliever, but it is said to facilitate the whole natural healing process. It is found to be most useful for:

  • Muscular skeletal complaints
  • Pain relief
  • Psychological problems
  • Headaches and migraine, and
  • To extend the reflexology stimulus between sessions.

What is (VRT)?

Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT) is a technique carried out on the dorsum (tops) and sides of the feet while the client is standing up. Many clients respond very quickly to VRT as it is powerful. A full VRT session can be carried out in 5-10 minutes.

VRT is suitable for clients who have difficulty reclining, lacking time for a full reflexology session or suffering a chronic condition needing an extra boost.
